About Abril Gutierrez
Abril Gutierrez is a recent BFA graduate in Time Arts, with a minor in Deaf Studies from Northern Illinois University. They have an interest in digital illustration and story animation development. They were born in 2000 and live in Belvidere, Illinois. They were self-taught from a young age until they attended Rock Valley College in 2016, where they later received their Associate of Art in 2018. They’ve received several awards at the Rembrandt Illinois State Convention, one being an Outstanding Artist Award in 2017 as well as being selected for a prize of $500 for their piece in 2018. In Feb. 2018, they were apart of the Illinois High School Art Exhibition, where they received the Senior Scholarship Exhibition Award. They were apart of NAWA's 2021 Game Lab Challenge; working with international students to create a video game. They are currently working at NetherRealm Studios as an Associate Cinematic Artist.
